More Maintenance and Continued Investigations of Mac Problems
On Tuesday 10/30 CHFA|TECH and ITS updated the connections of the A/V classrooms in Lang hall. This is the latest step in our work to stop the Mac drops we experienced early in the semester. We will be switching Lang 112 on the morning of Thursday 11/1.
Recent changes have aided considerably in the stability of the Macs network connections. We are still working with Apple to find the root cause of the drops. Our case has been escalated to the Macintosh Manager Engineering team who actually wrote the software we are using. We are one of only two sites experiencing the specific problems we are seeing. They are investigating all kinds of data recorded from our network, servers, clients etc. We are told that they will have things for us to test soon. We will be performing this testing on our live network, meaning that there is a potential for temporary outages. We will make announcement prior to changes, and try to perform as much of the work at times that will affect as few people/classes as possible.
