Windows 2000 Maintainance - Sunday 3/24/2002

The remainder of Windows 2000 computers were updated on Sunday afternoon/evening. Remaining computers (16+) were not powered on, so CHFA|TECH was unable to make necessary modifications.

Users with problems running keyed applications on Monday should call, e-mail, or fill out a web form work request. We will attempt to update computers on a first come first served basis. This may take hours to days depending on other pending jobs. Again, we ask Windows 2000 users to log off their workstation when not using the machine, but not to shut down. Win2000 machines are all configured to shut off printers, peripherals and monitors when not in use - therby saving a majority of total electricity used by the computer system.

Windows 2000 Maintainance - Friday 3/22/2002

Due to a policy flaw found this week on CHFA Windows 2000 machines - we are replacing several system files on every computer running Windows 2000 that is connected to the campus network.
After the files are replaced, we will have to restart the computer. Some computers will need to be rebooted twice for the process to complete.

If you are working during this time and see a message saying the machine you are using will power down in 2 minutes. Please accept our apologies for your inconvenience, save your work as the on-screen message says, and wait for the system to restart (it should only take a couple of minutes).
