Information on Student Macintosh accounts

Graduate students within Art, Music, and Communicative Disorders should now have active user accounts. My apologies for the confusion and delays.

Information on Student Macintosh accounts

I have found out that the student accounts I have already set-up only include undergraduate students. I am currently working on the graduate student lists, and will hopefully have those done before the end of the day.

Information on Student Macintosh accounts

Due to changes in the server structure over the summer, all student accounts that had been created over the course of the past academic year have been removed. New accounts are necessary to access the lab and to once again have private storage space.

There is good news though. If you are a declared major in Art, Music, or Communicative Disorders, your new account has already been created! You can access your account with one of two possible logins – the examples are below. Your initial password has been set to your student ID number.

Login type 1: FIRSTNAME LASTNAME
Login type 2: uniemaillogin

Your new account is limited to 200 MB of private storage space.

If you are NOT a declared major within Art, Music, or Communicative Disorders and you would like an account to access a CHFA Macintosh lab, you will have to request an account.

*Please Note* Starting June 27, 2003 CHFA TECH will disable all student
accounts and delete stored settings and documents. You need to backup any
data you want before you leave Cedar Falls in May. If you are enrolled in
Summer classes, please visit our web page in May or June. Look under
requests - and ask for account access over the Summer. Otherwise, when you
return in the Fall you can have your account reactivated - but you will have
empty documents folder and generic personal settings on the screen.

If you had an account last year and did not manage to get all of your documents backed up before leaving for the summer, we do still have them on file. Please submit a work request with your account information and what files you may need and we will transfer the files to your new account.
