Planned changes to Macintosh labs and Classrooms over Christmas Break

Over Christmas break, the current plan calls for updating all CHFA Macintosh labs and classrooms from its current operating system (OS 9) to a newer one (OS X, version 10.2.2). This will create a few changes in the current set-up of these machines.

Most software currently being used in these labs will either be updated to a newer version, or will continue to work in its current version. There may be a few items that will need to be removed, but those items cannot be identified at this time.

The upgrades to the labs and classrooms should result in the following:
Machines will run a bit faster
More stable machines/less crashes and downtime
Native PDF file support on all machines
Log-in accounts will be active again
Easier management on the tech-side

If you have any questions or concerns about these upgrades, please feel free to contact us.
