Another virus sent to CHFA-TODAY - ''Microsoft - Use this patch immediately''
As we have received a dozen calls about this today - further warnings are warranted.
Microsoft NEVER sends .EXE executible files via email. You should never attempt to launch such an attachment (new mail programs such as Outlook or Outlook Express will not allow you to run .EXE files for this reason).

Further, CHFA|TECH manages updates to Windows machines in the College
automatically. You do not need to run any updates yourself - matter of fact this is counterproductive and often destructive. We ask that you leave your machine on at night, but log off, so that legitimate security updates that we have inspected can install at 3-4AM, so as not to inconvenience you during the work day.

7:12pm - Subject: Use this patch immediately! - From: Microsoft.
This is not from Microsoft. This is an automated worm. Please delete this and any messages similar to it - do not lauch the attachment (NEVER, NEVER launch an application with an .exe file extension).
