UNI.EDU Mail Server speed problem

As many have inquired over the last two days - "why is my @uni.edu mail so slow." Using MailMan was virtually impossible yesterday - all IMAP and POP clients (Outlook, O.Express, Netscape Messenger, Eudora, etc.) were only slightly better.

The UNI mailserver is maintained by ITS-NS (Network Services). CHFA has no control over this server. CHFA cannot access or change your password, create mail accounts, mailing lists. Our only job is to support mail client programs on office computers in the College (of which our recommended clients are Outlook Express for Windows, and Mac Mail for OS X Macintoshes).

ITS was testing an anti-spam software on the mail server Tuesday 9/2 and until 11AM today which resulted in poor mail performance (speed).
