Macromedia Flash MX 2004 (7) in Windows Labs

After a reboot at 4:55pm tonight, all CHFA Windows labs will receive an upgrade from Macromedia Flash MX (version 6) to Flash MX 2004 (version 7.01).

Flash 7 is very similar to version 6 - however, first time users will notice a 45 to 90 second delay on the starting window while the application copies/sets up all your user preferences. These preferences are very large (4500 files - over 80MB of stuff) - and they are not part of your roaming user profile - so they are created each time you login to a new machine. In CHFA labs, you will likely have this 45-90 second wait each time you launch the application.

Additionally, Flash 7 will prompt you that "New help content is available. Would you like to download it now?" You can answer either yes or no - the updated help files are there already. If you answer yes, it will go over the Internet and find nothing to update (although it will change the time stamp for the update_manifest.xml file - which seems to prevent it from needing to update help files again).
