REPAIRED- Network outtage - No Logins to CHFA computers
From approximately 5pm Friday April 30th until 1:45pm on Saturday May 1st - users were unable to login to any CHFA network accounts on any CHFA computers.
Information Technology Services Network Services (ITS NS)had a server fail on Friday, which appears to set off a chain of events that caused CHFA's two Domain controllers to loose their "login system" service between 4:50 and 5:00pm. When the login service failed to restart, both CHFA servers restarted themselves only to fail to register with the rest of the University Active Directory during the restart.
Once notified (12:30pm Saturday) - Aaron Howard from ITS NS came to campus from home and restarted their failed server, which still has disk errors, but this restored service to the CHFA domain servers.
As of approximately 1:45pm Saturday - login to CHFA computers with CHFA user accounts was possible.
CHFA TECH will work further with ITS NS to prevent this type of failure in the future.
