Microsoft Office 2003 on WIndows computers
As a reminder to faculty - as stated in the February and April 2004 CHFA Techtalk newsletter - on May 12th we began replacing Office XP with Office 2003 on all CHFA Windows computers.
The replacement of Office software occurs whenever the computer restarts. We have begun restarting machines remotely that we notice have older versions of software (especially anti virus). When this occurs you will find the office applications in their own folder in the start menu - and any personal shortcuts you made to your desktop or quick lanuch bar will no longer work (since they were likely specific to the XP version not 2003 version).
To recreate an icon on your personal desktop go into Programs ->Microsoft Office, right click the application you want, and choose Send To-> Desktop (create shortcut).
