Student Login Accounts - Fall 2004 **MAJOR CHANGE**
As printed in the CHFATECH Newsletter for August 2004
All student computer accounts are now being created and maintained by ITS.
This is a change from the CHFA-maintained accounts of previous years.
All students automatically have computer accounts created for them. The username is the same as their UNI email address before the “@” sign. Their password defaults to their social security number. This password, however, must be changed at first login.
Please note the following: this initial login and password change must take place on a Windows computer. Although the Macintosh will allow you to do this change, the password will not work for subsequent logins from any computer. Once this initial login and password change has been made from a PC, students may login to any computer, Macintosh or Windows.
Students signing into CHFA computers with their ITS student account will need to do one of the following at the login screen:
Option One: In the “User name:” field, precede the username with “student\” (such as student\userid), or,
Option Two (only on a Windows computer): Select “STUDENT” in the drop down box at the “Log on to:” field.
Because CHFA is no longer creating or maintaining these accounts, students must go to room 27 in the Curris Business Building for password resets and other account issues. CHFA Tech will not able to help with student account issues.
Faculty are responsible for requesting document storage space for students in their classes. Only students with majors in the College, taking classes in CHFA, or employed in college departments will be allowed storage space on our servers. For this reason, faculty are requested to turn in class lists requesting space for their students. No requests from students will be permitted.
Look for additional news article on "Accessing Student Document Storage" coming soon.
