Windows Critical Updates Tuesday Feb 8th = reboot CHFA servers
We will restart CHFA file servers the evening of Tuesday February 8th to install necessary updates from Microsoft. We will do this at 10PM - with the expectation of having service restored before 10:30PM
For faculty this means Mercury will be unavailable during this time (your documents and home directory). As always - faculty should log off from any computer before they leave work for the day. Files that are not closed (exited) are not backed up to tape nightly, and in the case of a server restart - you may lose work that you didn't save.
For students - the server Bacchus will be unavailable during the outtage.
Pluto which contains public shared files and our print server will also be updated at this time. Printing from Windows computers to networked printers will be delayed during the reboot of this server.
If you have questions please contact us by email at chfaTECH@uni.edu
