Thunderbird 1.0.6 for Windows
Mozilla Thunderbird 1.0.6 is now available for CHFA Windows computers as a replacement for version 1.0.2. 1.0.6 is a security and bug update according to Mozilla's website
If you created a shortcut on your desktop to the old Thunderbird shortcut (for example, by right mouse clicking on the all programs -> Mozilla Thunderbird icon and choosing send to: desktop (create shortcut)) you will need to delete the old shorcut and create a new one. The icon for the old shortcut will be gone, and if you try to launch from that shortcut you will get "Shortcut is valid only for installed applications."
We recommend you use the Windows XP enhanced shell to launch Thunderbird: when you click the start button in the upper-left corner are your personal web browser and email client. You select these by right mouse button clicking on the start button, choosing properties, to the right of Start Menu clicking on the Customize button- and finally there are two blanks for Show on Start menu - Internet and E-mail. Choose your favorite from the pulldown and click OK on both windows.
You can also create a desktop shortcut by right clicking on the advertised Mozilla Thunderbird entry in all programs, but these are *version specific* and change with new releases of Thunderbird.
