new Student login accounts for Fall 2005

ITS has created student accounts for all students enrolled for Fall 2005 in the AD-ITS domain. These replace the STUDENT domain accounts from the 2004-2005 academic year. These accounts share your email login name, but have a separate password. Students will need to login to the AD-ITS domain with a default password and then choose a new password of at least eight characters in length.

The initial password for students is of the pattern mmdd$xxxxxx where
mm - is the lower-case first two letters of the users' birth month
dd - is the day of the month the user was born
xxxxxx - is their six digit student ID number

Example: a student born August 16th with a student ID number of 867530 would have a first-time password of
au16$867530

How to sign on to any Windows machine in CHFA:
1) Enter your Active Directory Username (i.e. smith)Your Username is ONLY the portion preceding the @ sign in your UNI Email address
2) Enter your Active Directory password (either the first-time default above, or the one you have selected this semester).
3) Select Log on to AD-ITS from the third line on the login screen (if you only have username and password blanks, click Options button to show the log on to line).

How to sign onto any Macintosh in CHFA:
1) Enter your Active Directory Username (i.e. smith)Your Username is ONLY the portion preceding the @ sign in your UNI Email address
2) Enter your Active Directory password (either the first-time default above, or the one you have selected this semester).
3) If prompted for new password, type new and confirm new - but you must leave the password hint field empty.
