Windows software Updates - default mail client reset

CHFATECH will restart all managed Windows XP computers in the College after 10PM tonight to facilitate software updates.

One update will set the default mail handling application to Outlook 2003. If you prefer to use Thunderbird or Outlook Express, you will need to set the mail preference in the Windows Control Panel: Internet Options: Programs.

Today's updates include:
Microsoft Office 2003 Service Pack 2 (this resets the mail client - these are function updates)
Mozilla Thunderbird 1.0.7 (Security fixes)
Mozilla Firefox 1.0.7 (security fixes)
Trillian 3.1 (fixes for Yahoo and AOL instant messaging)
Quick Time Player 7.02 (version upgrade from 6.51)
