Macintosh Security and Software Updates
Over winter break, several updates will be installed on the Macintosh computers in the college.
The first of these is Apple Security Update 2006-008. This is a security update from Apple which increases security for both Quartz composer and Quicktime for Java.
Mozilla has released security updates for both Thunderbird and Firefox. In addition, this move takes us from version 1.5 of Firefox to 2.0, which is now been publically available for several months.
Finally, security updates for Microsoft Office 2004 were released, updating both Power Point and Entourage to version 11.3.2.
These updates will be installed automatically as long as your computer is powered on over break. If not, it will take several minutes to install once your computer is back online. If you have any questions about these updates, please do not hesitate to contact us.
